• Peter v. Savigny is an M.Sc. Computer Science with focus on (User-Centered Design). He took part in the education of computer scientists in this area with Prof. Christiane Floyd.
• As part of his Ph.D. thesis work he was able to acquire competence in field study methodology through participating in a project with the world-renowned group of Lucy Suchman at Xerox-PARC (USA). He has led projects using that methodology for more than ten years.
• Moreover, Savigny User Research has routine in the use of video as a medium for recording, analysis and vivid presentation.

In the USA, field studies are consistently used by successful companies (like Microsoft, Intel, Amazon and Yahoo) in needs analysis and quality assurance.
